ATLIS Conference: "Why We Fight: War, Peace, and Resolution"
November 18-20, 2005
Mount Allison University
This November 18th to the 20th ATLIS, in partnership with Mount Allison's branch of the Rights and Democracy Youth Network, will be hosting a conference entitled "Why We Fight: War, Peace, and Resolution". Undergraduate students from all over Atlantic Canada will be invited to the Mount Allison campus to participate in what we hope will be one of the largest undergraduate discussions in the field of International Relations. Students, professors, NGO and government leaders, activists, and experts will all be present to learn, educate, and share their experiences, in an effort to enthusiastically promote the values of human rights and democracy.
The 2005 ATLIS Conference is doing this in a variety of ways: Undergraduate students will have the opportunity to present their scholarly papers to their peers and the public. Students can also enjoy a workshop on Conflict Resolution conducted by David Eaves, who has been active in implementing negotiation strategies for global organizations. There will be a public round table as well as an interactive poster fair. Finally, we are hoping to work with Rights and Democracy to organize a Benefit Concert, held the night of November 19th, with bands from all over Atlantic Canada entertaining conference participants.
The schedule may be found here.
