Coup de coeur démocratique pour le Burkina Faso project
Postcards from Ouagadougou
Hello,
The first Rights & Democracy Delegation twinning has finally become reality! The students from the Université de Moncton Delegation were warmly received at the airport by the students from the Université de Ouagadougou Delegation on October 31st. We had a first meeting Tuesday with the Delegation. The Université de Ouagadougou is probably one of the first universities to offer their Delegation an office on campus! After visiting with the Ambassador of Canada in Burkina Faso, HE Mr. Louis Robert-Daigle, the students began their schedule of activities which will keep them very busy, learning an enormous amount, while having the pleasure of learning together, with passion and conviction.

Hello from Ouagadougou!
My name is Julie Breau and I am a member of the Rights & Democracy Delegation of the Université de Moncton. Our Delegation is the first to have the opportunity to meet our twin from a university in the south. Every day, a member of our Delegation will write a little message to keep you up to date on our adventures here in Ouaga. So, happy reading, and come back to the website often to find out the latest news…

Since the first night, we haven’t stopped a second! We have only been here a few days, but we’ve already met with the Canadian Embassy in Burkina Faso, we’ve visited the campus of the Université de Ouagadougou, we took part in a training session on presidential election observation which we’ll do on November 13th, and we even found the time to celebrate the end of Ramadan with several new friends!

The Burkinese in the Université de Ouagadougou Rights & Democracy Delegation are wonderful! Our twins are all really nice and warm. The welcome was incredible, and we are all ready to work hard on our different themes. On top of everything, we are very lucky to be staying with the Dicko family, who have welcomed us with open arms.
